Glasgow International Comedy Festival have announced a first batch of big name shows as well as a new sponsor for 2018. Whyte & Mackay will be headline sponsors of the event, which runs from 8 – 25 March 2018.

The festival, the biggest event in Glasgow’s comedy calendar, is now in its 16th year. It is also the largest dedicated comedy festival in Europe, with 470 shows across 50 venues.

Among performers already lined up for this year are David Baddiel, with his Olivier-nominated show My Family: Not The Sitcom, and a number of shows transferring from last year’s Fringe, including Tommy Tiernan: Under The Influence, Alexei Sayle, Bridget Christie: What Now? and Irish trio Foil, Arms and Hog. Also lined up are Katherine Ryan and Rob Delaney.

The sponsorship link-up with the Glasgow born whisky brand will see Whyte & Mackay offer a range of on-site promotions and some “extra special comedic twists” for festival goers.

Sarah Watson, Director of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival said “We are hugely excited to announce this partnership which will allow us to create an even better festival and bring more laughs to Glasgow next March. Whyte & Mackay have some great things planned and we’re looking forward to revealing more in the coming months alongside 2018’s line up of top flight comedy talent.”

The full GICF 2018 programme will be announced in January. See glasgowcomedyfestival.com for more
