For one of the best late night shows at the Fringe Imaginary Porno Charades is giving the rest of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe shows a run for their money. Exactly what the title implies, the show is a panel game with contestants from various Fringe shows and special guests that get their charade on with imaginary pornography titles as subjects. Each evening has a different theme, so going every night and seeing a different show is one of the many great things about it.
Contestants gyrate hips, mime phallic symbols and feign insertions for a solid 45 minutes of dirty comedy that has the whole audience almost falling out of their seats in hysterics. Tonight’s theme is children’s story titles and special guest from Get Your Own Back, Dave Benson Phillips. Watching the host of a children’s game show say and act out horrible, sexual themes is worth the cost of the ticket alone. The host is charismatic and witty, getting good banter and reactions from the audience. The show appears to be almost sold out on the second night of it’s run and once word gets around punters will struggle to get seats.
The format and charade topics are brilliantly creative and massively appealing for festival goers looking for a fun, hilarious show late at night. Imaginary Porno Charades: the most naughty fun you can have at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival without being arrested.
