Louise Quinn is a talented and accomplished songwriter and singer. With her band (A Band Called Quinn) she was exposed to the empty promises and corruption within the music industry. Biding Time (Remix) is a surreal and fantastic musical interpretation of her challenges, while also being an immersive audio-theatrical experience. The space itself consists of a large L-shape stage, with video screens at either end. These screens depict the narrative of the performance and show us the shady and deplorable characters that Quinn meets on her journey.

The audience is given headphones as they enter to which the music from the performance is relayed, allowing them to fully appreciate the songs and the audio accompaniment to the videos. Along with the four piece band, a large White Rabbit is on stage. This Rabbit acts as a tormentor, dance partner and even friend to Quinn as the performance progresses. The Rabbit adds to the surreal element of the show, where performance art and music is combined. The imagery here is stunning, visceral and heightens the performance making it feel energetic and raw.

Biding Time (Remix) is a musical journey into the music industry itself. The power of the songwriting is it’s strong point while the Rabbit gives a fantastical edge. The story does feel a bit predicable but the beautifully crafted songs and the surreal imagery make it an original and joyful experience.
