Tina and Ken are circus addicts. They met doing street theatre in 1997 and have worked together ever since. This is What We Do For a Living traces the course of their relationship with all its literal thrills and spills. Circus acts abound on the Fringe, but Tumble Circus offer something fresh, both in terms of their tricks and the narrative aspect of their work. Despite its “U” rating, this show has an emotional depth that children are unlikely to fully appreciate. The circus stunts are indeed breathtaking, but it is Tina and Ken’s use of these same skills as a metaphor for the delicate balance and symbiosis required for a long term relationship which makes this production something truly special.
