Sometimes it can be difficult to analyse why something is funny, and this is certainly the case with Carlo Jacucci’s Vitamin. And yet from the moment he emerges from the wings and walks across the stage with a brief pause and a raised eyebrow, the audience is erupting with barely-contained laughter. Much of the dialogue is gibberish, other lines are repeated with a frequency that should grate but somehow serves only to intensify the humour. Some scenes deliver fewer laughs, others seem to run on a little too long, but Jacucci never loses his crowd for a moment. Vitamin lacks a central theme, a plot and, arguably, a point. But chances are the audience are too helpless with mirth to notice.
