By all accounts, 2016 has been an absolute bastard of a year so far. Quite irrespective of your political views (ahem), the last eleven months have snatched away more well-liked celebrities than a Children in Need anthem… first and perhaps foremost among these was David Bowie, who bowed out from Life on Earth just three days after his latest and last record was released.
But while January 10th 2016 might be regarded as a dark day in music history, that doesn’t mean we still can’t enjoy the music of the Thin White Duke in a live setting. Thanks to the Bowie Experience, Usher Hall will be rocking to the sound of Rebel Rebel, Space Oddity, Heroes, All the Young Dudes and many more Bowie favourites this December.
What better way to gear up for Christmas than with this all-singing, all-dancing celebration of Bowie’s finest work, as performed by perfectionist impersonators from Bournemouth? Laurence Knight leads the charge as the man himself, amply supported by a six-piece backing band as they roll back the years and recreate the magic of Bowie’s heyday.
As the only Bowie tribute act in the world to be invited to the private screening of David Bowie is at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2014, it’s clear that the Bowie Experience is the cream of the crop. Why accept imitations? See them live at Usher Hall on the 17th December for a Christmas treat like no other – tickets are in short supply but the last few can still be snaffled up here.
