According to his father, Rich Peppiatt is a journalist best known for quitting. In 2011, he resigned from his job at The Daily Star over the tabloid’s anti-Islamic slant in a letter that was leaked to The Guardian. Since then, Peppiatt has become a commentator and campaigner for media reform, most famously testifying at the Leveson Inquiry. Peppiatt’s first Edinburgh show is a slanderous exposé of the hypocrisy behind the headlines. Peppiat is not lacking in self-awareness, and he acknowledges the moral quandaries in invading the privacy of the editors who make a living doing just that. Gleefully libellous anecdotes are interspersed with images and film clips of Peppiatt confronting his targets. Probably best to book now before they shut him down.
