Dr Daniel Somerville is a senior lecturer at University of Worcester where his research concerns opera and the operatic, and the application of opera theory to contemporary performance making. He has written and reviewed opera both live and on recordings for Opera Magazine, Opera Now and Classic fM and has published a chapter: ‘The Emergence of the Operatic’ in Music on Stage II for Cambridge Scholar’s Publishing.
