For a gig machine the calibre of LA’sNo Age to have taken two years to pop back north of the border was doubly disappointing following the cancellation of a scheduled early August Edinburgh appearance.
They skip back across the Atlantic on the back of an opening slot for Pavement and Sonic Youth, after touring consistently since Febuary. The tour is buoyed by 3rd LP sees the duo back at the forefront of their luxurious Lo-Fi sound, already seeing gushingly positive reviews. Don’t expect to be catching their ferocity in such a tidy venue next time they venture to Scotland.
But they’ve not ventured across the border alone – they’ve brought along their own top dollar support in London based Sup Pop compatriots, Male Bonding. After a year peddling their own critically acedLP the hart hitting, smart rocking trio will add another layer of don’t-give-a-fuck-fun to proceedings.
If it doesn’t sound good enough already, scratching the surface of the evening will be Glasgow’s simmering trio Pawsto scratch the surface of the evening.
£10 won’t get you much further for entertainment this Saturday night, barring perhaps half a dozen spins on the #40 to Drumchapel after the gig…
