Showing @ Traverse Theatre, 2 – 5 March

To celebrate its fifth year, the National Theatre of Scotland is giving a rare insight into artists’ ideas and their work at different stages of the creative process, which will be explored through Traverse Theatre’s NTS Reveal season.

In a double bill from new writers, Love Letters to the Public Transport System & Count Me In let the audience experience two brand new works-in-progress, as an experiment to see how well their work goes down. This is an exciting opportunity for the audience to have a real impact on the final work.

Love Letters to the Public Transport System by Molly Taylor seeks to thank the often unappreciated people who work in public transport, without which our busy, fast-moving daily lives would be impossible. In this one woman show, Taylor explores both the ordinary and the extraordinary journeys we make every day, and thanks the people who make them possible.

Gary McNair’s Count Me In questions our political system which we were born into but don’t necessarily agree with and how, if at all, we can alter it. With a referendum on changing the electoral voting system to AV just around the corner, this is a highly topical subject, and a piece that is likely to be very influenced by what could soon be a ground-breaking change to our current political landscape.
