Edinburgh International Film Festival 2012: Under the Stars
To kick off the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Essential Edinburgh has organised a four day event at St Andrews Square gardens. Under the Stars is an outdoor screening programme offering classic films that relate to the EIFF programme in many ways. Under The Stars opens at 17.30 on Thursday evening and kicks off with Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade. Other highlights include Donnie Darko, Matilda, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, Back to the Future, and closes on Sunday with Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgudy. The free event helps create a ‘crowd-pleasing cinematic experience’ in the heart of Edinburgh, which is open to all, though under-16s must be accompanied by an adult. This mix of children’s favourites and classics is a way to get cinema lovers of all types together to enjoy film the way it should be: free, fun, and for everyone.
