Australia’s flesh and fabric double act return to the Fringe this year with their take on that hoary old theatrical chestnut: the haunted house mystery. With its blend of panto, musical theatre and blue chip filth, this is a fast and furiously funny hours worth of entertainment from the pair, and if every gag doesn’t quite hit home, don’t worry, there’ll be another one along in a minute. What’s often forgotten about Sammy J and Randy’s shows is the quality of puppeteering, but this year, even though they work hard to make it seem simple (constantly making meta-gags about it) they have put together probably their most complex and therefore enjoyably silly show.
