Hans is, primarily, an avid cinephile who studied film history under celebrated critic Raymond Durgnat. He is also an independent film maker. He has previously written regularly for The Fly and, briefly, The Guardian. He curates the quarterly short film programme Blueprint - Scottish Independent Shorts, for Glasgow Film.
