Toothy panel show regular Rob Beckett will host this year’s Edinburgh Comedy Gala for Waverley Care on Fri 18 Aug at Edinburgh Playhouse.

Beckett, one of TV comedy’s most famous faces, thanks to turns on 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week will share duties with another special guest host yet to be announced.

“I am delighted to be hosting this year’s 10th anniversary night of the Edinburgh Comedy Gala!” said Beckett. “I loved performing in 2015 alongside a brilliant line up and this year is no different.  Here’s to another 10 years of fundraising for Waverley Care.”

Comedy producers Off The Kerb Productions run the gala, which raises funds for Waverley Care, Scotland’s biggest charity providing care and support to those living with HIV and Hepatitis C. Tickets go fast, with all proceeds raised from the event going straight to support Waverley Care’s life changing work. This year should take the total raised to date to £500,000.

“We continue to be immensely grateful to the many comedians who are willing to give of their time,” said Waverley Care’s Chief Executive, Grant Sugden. “Off The Kerb’s continued support helps us make an enormous difference to the lives of many people across Scotland who are living with HIV or Hepatitis C.  And what better way to make that difference than through laughter!”

Performers already announced for this year’s show include Al Murray, Shappi Khorsandi, Andrew Maxwell, Simon Evans, Phill Jupitus, Ivo Graham, Suzi Ruffell, Andrew Ryan and Mark Watson. More will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets are available now.
