The professional style of Lucy Hopkins’ performance is a complete breath of fresh, quality air. Commanding the stage with 3 personalities, we question the nature of performance under her ascerbic wit and carefully teased out snapshots. This is theatrical parody, with such a light touch as to leave no trace of its workings. Although there isn’t a plot as such, instead based on a series of improvisations, every moment is entirely fresh, as though newly envisaged and Hopkin’s unveiling of the theatre is enrapturing.

A blank set and spot are all that is required to move the audience. Hopkins is a consummate professional, and within seconds the audience are entirely at ease and following her story breath by breath. Abstract, but always making complete sense, we understand completely her pointed reminders of a theatrical tradition run amok with its own pretention. Full of surprises, this show is an absolute must-see.
