Its as equally frustrating as it is pleasing to see two of Scotland’s most promising outfits embark on a co-headline tour of  sub-1000 capacity across the UK.

On the plus side under one ticket price you catch both the dance-rock  efforts of Errors and the wistful post-rock of Twilight Sad usher in the Autumn with true Scottish aplomb.

Sadly the reason for two quality, hungry bands to tour on the same bill is exemplified by an alternative option across the M8 on Tuesday…
Brandon Flowers wringing out his in a sold out Glasgow’s Academy to three times as many punters as the Liquid Room, for three times the price.

Both the central belt bands have been gnawing at the bottom of the commercial door, long before either of their acclaimed 2010 sophomore albums hit the tiles – it’s a shame they’ve had to revel in the safety of booking these post-Festival season tour dates at venues they should more than justify selling out solo.

Error’s have been stirring their electro-punk-gumbo pot since their 2006 EP How Clean Is Your Acid House? ; turning up the percussion heat on 2008’s debut LP It’s Not Something But It Is Like Whatever and boiling over their musical sensibilities on this years album, Come Down With Me.

A fierce year of touring dark, dank European hotspots and weaving between festival dates and strong support slots culminated in headlining the End Of The Road festival’s secondary stage on it’s final night.

After a hectic few years touring in support of debut LP Fourteen Autumns and Fifteen Winters including a chunk of dates on both sides of the Atlantic, including supporting the calibre of bands from Mogwai to MONO, the Kilsyth boys know how to really reward the home support.

They wind down a year of touring second album Forget The Night Ahead, which began in Febuary with the departure of bassist Craig Orzel – but kicked on to a sold out ‘Quadraphonic Sound’ Gig at Glasgow’s ABC and support on Biffy Clyro’s UK tour.

Rounding off proceedings was the release of fresh material in the form of last months The Wrong Car EP, complete with a remix of ‘Reflection In The Television’ from tourmates Error’s themselves.

Hopefully this time next year this tour will be seen on the flip side – as a frustratingly last opportunity to catch either outfit in a steamy, eye-level venue and the end of either fighting for space on hectic touring calenders being hogged by artists who have grown bored between multi-million album contract paychecks.
