It’s important that in Edinburgh, a city that prides itself on its theatrical output, theatre companies are emerging in order to nurture talent and provide new and interesting work. Pocketful Productions, in association with the Edinburgh University Arts society, aims to do just this as they present Scotland’s emerging comic talent in their second production of the year, Noises Off.

This aims to give the audience a laugh out loud experience, something we all need while the cold is setting in. Noises Off won an Olivier for best comedy in its first run and depicts a farce within a farce brimming with slapstick chaos as the audience are left to reflect on the nonsense and invited into the world of the play.

Not only is it an exciting opportunity to see something uplifting but it’s also a chance to support real fringe theatre. The companies aim is to bridge the gap for actors between amateur and professional theatre and with such a demanding piece it is sure to provide them with a challenge of sorts. So why not pop along and have a giggle, besides it’s freezing outside and with SAD setting in with the clocks going back it’s bound to provide a seasonal lift to carry us through a dark evening.
