The story of Bobby Gordon’s growing up: in his own words ‘in the shadow of my dad’s erection’. His father Howie Gordon it should be explained was the star of over 100 pornographic movies, he’s also Playgirls’ ‘Man of the Year 1979’.
The sum of this show is less than the parts it serves up. Stories of overly expectant girlfriends and the rebelling against his father lifestyle fail to deliver the belly laughs that the stories and anecdotes deserve. Finding a way of telling this story without prancing about the stage with a giant penis or bouncing about on a bed will help; this just detracts from the narrative and adds nothing.
While smiles, friendly laughter and giggling abound, this show needs the money shot, that his father delivered on so many occasions.
