With dancers high-fiving and whooping along the queue, you could tell that Rhythmic Circus were ready to say goodbye to Edinburgh with a bang and, from the outset, they didn’t disappoint. This was modern tap with a street dance style backed up by musicians on the sugary side of sweet. The honey coated audio tempered with the funkiest edge; think Shaft soundtrack, and it needs to be to keep up with the intense, energetic moves.

You can easily see the dancing that has been influenced by the two Michael’s; Flatley and Jackson. Leave aside the negative sides of this they take only the good and leave the bad far behind.

Music and dance clash together brought into unity by the sheer hard work of both musician and dancer into a seamless narrative that kept my two left feet tapping happily away.
