Tonight’s show is a great, high-energy show that does everything it said on the tin, though not a great deal more. Performing their iconic debut album, What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?, for its 15th anniversary the 02 is full of diehard fans.

‘Post Break-Up Sex’ early in the set predictably goes off, and songs like ‘Wetsuit’ and ‘Nørgaard’ keep the momentum high. ‘If You Wanna’, arguably one of the album’s best tracks, is a clear crowd highlight.

The set is one of confidence; the band’s theatrics and arrangements are powerful without being overwhelming. Considering it tops out at just a little over a half hour, they run through the album quickly before moving onto some more hits. A few rarely seen debut-era b-sides close out the main set, culminating in ‘Tiger Blood’ which hadn’t been played live for the best part of a decade.

The encore saw new song ‘Ten Years Too Far’ make its live debut and, of course, they couldn’t leave without playing ‘All My Friends Are Falling in Love’; a timeless indie anthem. Overall the show is an impressive show of professionalism and good for a bit of a nostalgic indie singalong, though it didn’t really push beyond expectations or provide any surprises that might elevate it to the next level.
